Victoria Hutchins.

Victoria is a Melbourne-based artist who creates abstract pieces inspired by the beauty of every day. Her painting style is expressive, dynamic and colourful: celebrating the spontaneity of mark-making with a mixed media approach that combines illustration, painting and design. 

Growing up on a farm in rural Queensland, her compulsion to create and communicate through art began from an early age. She later found true freedom in a meditative creative process that fills her with a sense of calm – qualities that radiate from her artwork. 

The powerful influence of the rich Australian landscape permeates her work. Victoria’s distinctive layered style always begins with a considered colour palette and story, allowing her to design freely with detailed mark-making on canvas and paper. 

Her creative process is all about capturing the essence and the spirit of the theme she works to, rather than a literal interpretation – serving to remind us of the ever-changing nature of perception and our experience of the world around us.
